Find your inbox IMAP and SMTP server details

If you need to go through the manual configuration to connect your inbox to Prowly, you'll need to provide these technical details.

There are several ways you can find your server's IMAP and SMTP details. First of all, you can look up your email app settings:

Apple Mail (macOS)

  • Open the Mail app apple mail icon
  • Choose Mail > Preferences, click Accounts, select the account you'd like to connect to Prowly (if you have more than one) then click Server Settings.
  • Find sections Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). You should see the addresses in the Host Name field.

Outlook for Mac

  • Open the Outlook app outlook icon
  • Choose Outlook > Preferences, click Accounts, select the account you'd like to connect to Prowly (if you have more than one).
  • Under the section Server Information you should see fields Incoming server (IMAP) and Outgoing server (SMTP).

    Outlook for Windows

    • Start Outlook outlook icon
    • Go to File > select the account from the list that you'd like to connect to Prowly (if you have more than one) > Account Settings -> Server Settings.
    • Under the section Incoming mail (IMAP) and Outgoing mail (SMTP) you should see the Server field. 

    Apple Mail (iOS)

    • Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > select the account you'd like to connect to Prowly > Account.
    • Under the section Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) you should see the Host Name field. 
    • Tap on SMTP to see the outgoing server details.

    Android email app

    • Go to Settings > select the account you'd like to connect to Prowly > under Server settings you should see Outgoing mail and Incoming mail.
    • Tap on Outgoing mail to see SMTP settings, Incoming mail will give you IMAP settings.

     

    Alternatively, you can try searching for IMAP/SMTP settings on your provider's support pages. If not, your IT team should be able to provide the necessary information.
