[Security and legal](https://help.prowly.com/manage-your-account?hsLang=en#security-and-legal) # How to enable and manage Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA) ## Add an extra layer of security to your Prowly account and protect your team’s work. #### **Why enable 2FA?** Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) helps protect your account by requiring a one-time code from an authenticator app each time you log in. It’s a simple way to safeguard your data and reduce the risk of unauthorized access. You might be required to enable 2FA if your admin enforces it for the organization. #### **How to enable 2FA (user-initiated)** 1. Go to **My Profile → Security** 2. Click **Turn on Two-Factor Authentication** 3. Open an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator) 4. Scan the QR code or enter the setup key manually 5. Enter the 6-digit verification code from your app 6. They can be used if you lose access to your device.   **How to enforce 2FA across your workspace** If your admin has enforced 2FA across your workspace, you’ll be asked to complete the setup the next time you log in. Go to **Account Settings → Security** 2. Enable **Require Two-Factor Authentication for all users** 3. All team members will be prompted to configure 2FA at their next login 4. Enter your email and password 2. When prompted, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app 3. Click **Continue** to access your account If you lose access to your device, you can log in using one of your backup codes. #### **How to turn off 2FA** If your organization has enforced 2FA, you will not be able to disable it on your own. If permitted: 1. Go to **My Profile → Security** 2. Click **Turn off Two-Factor Authentication** 3.
